DC/DC Converter

There are two main variants of DC/DC converters:

Isolated DC/DC converters: These have internal transformers that convert the input to a different output voltage for use with your devices. In this converter, the output is isolated from the input.
This isolation prevents the input voltage from being transferred to the output in the event of an internal error.
They are useful for negative or positive ground, and they can also be used as a floating ground for various types of devices, such as telecommunications equipment.
Due to the internal transformer (insulation), additional losses are generated, which reduce the efficiency.

Non-insulated DC/DC converters: these have no dielectric isolation between the input and output circuits.
They are typically used for lower voltages. You can lower the voltage up or down and some of the converters have the ability to do both (buck boost).
Non-isolated DC/DC converters are common at lower cost and are used in most negative ground applications such as in vehicles for various DC-powered devices and equipment.

Important note: The technical data mentioned in the store at the articles are meant as an orientation and are without guarantee. The binding data are mentioned in the manufacturer data sheets or specifications. As a rule, these can be called up directly in the article area or can be requested from us.

Pictures usually show the design of the components and not necessarily the real components. Please check the technical data sheets for appearance and dimensions.DC-DC converters are very common and generally provide a more cost-effective solution for most devices to power the active components in the system.
